Jeep® Brand is on the crest of a wave with World Surf League

 

  • As global partner of the World Surf League (WSL), the Jeep® brand will play a prominent role in the next two stages of the Championship Tour: in France, from 3 to 14 October, and in Portugal from 16 to 27 October.
  • The Jeep brand and the World Surf League share the same values: a spirit of freedom, passion and adventure.
  • The "Jeep Lounge" will be set up to enable visitors to request information about the Jeep range and book a test drive in the new Wrangler, Cherokee and Renegade.
  • Fans can enjoy Jeep session: a 360° "virtual surfing" experience available thanks to "Samsung Gear VR", as well as thrilling beach challenges on real surfboards operated by a mechanical system.

 

Champions of the World Surf League (WSL) are getting ready to compete in the upcoming European stages of the exciting Championship Tour: first at Landes (France), from 3 to 14 October, during "Quiksilver Pro France", and then at Peniche (Portugal) for "MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal" from 16 to 27 October.

 

One of the stars of the events will be the Jeep brand, partner of WSL Championship Tour events, which will be celebrating its affinity for surfing with the general public at both locations, as well as giving visitors the chance to test drive the most award-winning range ever. The Jeep brand also sponsored the WSL Championship Tour stage held from 2 to 16 July in South Africa, as well as partnering the Qualifying Series at Casablanca (Morocco) from 12 to 17 September and at Ericeira (Portugal) from 24 to 30 September.

 

At the upcoming competitions in France and Portugal, the Jeep brand will offer branded hospitality via a 'Jeep Lounge' in the sponsors' village. Here visitors will be able to request information about the Jeep range, purchase official Jeep merchandise and book a test drive in the latest Jeep models. The vehicles available for the test drives will be the all-new Wrangler, the Jeep icon is the most off-road capable Wrangler ever, delivering the highest levels of comfort and handling for everyday use, and the new Cherokee, the evolution of the most capable mid-sized SUV that's just as at home with the demands of modern city living as it is with adventures off the beaten track.

 

The Lounge allows guests to experience the Compass, the perfect combination of Jeep technology, character and design, and the new 2019 Renegade - the first Jeep SUV to be made in Italy - now featuring new styling and new engines, to keep its role as protagonist both in metropolitan settings and off the beaten track - that visitors will be able to test drive in the unstoppable Trailhawk version.

 

At the "Jeep Lounge" guests will have the chance to experience a 360° virtual surfing adventure thanks to exclusive content produced by the Jeep brand, using Samsung Gear VR technology. Wearing a special pair of goggles, users will find themselves riding the waves on a surfboard and, in virtual mode, will be able to tackle a real "tube", just like the professionals taking part in the day's competitions. Enthusiasts will also be able to try their skills on two real surfboards, operated by a mechanical system to "take on" the waves in exciting, enjoyable challenges.
Last but not least, world-class surfers and Jeep brand Ambassadors Jordy Smith and Malia Manuel will be attending both European events and involved in different on-site branded activities.

 

The European events of the prestigious WSL Championship Tour are only a small part of multi-year partnership between the Jeep brand and the WSL, which renewed at the start of the 2017 season.
The Jeep brand is the official and exclusive global automotive partner of the WSL Championship Tour and the naming rights partner to the WSL Jeep Leader Tour Rankings for the men's and women's Championship Tour.
